Welcome to Umbrale ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website at umbrale.fun and our mobile application.

We collect minimal information to operate the game:

Username — a name you choose yourself, used only for the global leaderboard. This is publicly visible to other players.
Game data — your guesses, scores, streaks, and coin balance. This is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is not transmitted to our servers except for leaderboard scores.
Leaderboard scores — your username, daily score, and guess count are stored in our database (Supabase) when you complete a game.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal contact information.
We do not require account registration.
We do not track your location.
We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may collect data independently:

Supabase — used to store leaderboard data. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense (web advertising) — we use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense uses cookies and may collect device identifiers, browsing data and IP addresses to serve personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Google AdMob (mobile app only) — used to serve rewarded ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad personalisation. See Google Privacy Policy.
Paddle (web purchases) — used to process payments for premium features. Paddle may collect billing information and transaction data. See Paddle Privacy Policy.
Monetag (web advertising) — used to display ads on our website. Monetag may collect device and browsing data for ad delivery. See Monetag Privacy Policy.
Fantasy Premier League (FPL) API — player photos displayed in the game are sourced from the FPL API, operated by the Premier League. We do not store these images ourselves.
Cloudflare — used to host and deliver our website. Cloudflare may process request metadata. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Expo / React Native — used to build and deliver the app. See Expo Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases and Payment Data

When you make a purchase on Umbrale (such as unlocking the Archive), payment is processed by Paddle. We do not store your credit card details or billing information. Paddle handles all payment processing and provides us only with confirmation of a completed purchase. For mobile purchases, payments are handled by Apple or Google and subject to their privacy policies.

5. Cookies and Advertising

Our website uses cookies for advertising purposes through Google AdSense. These cookies allow Google to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.

We also use browser local storage to save your game progress and preferences locally on your device. This is not used for advertising.

6. Children's Privacy

Umbrale is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

Leaderboard data is stored securely via Supabase with row-level security enabled. We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request deletion of your leaderboard data — contact us and we will remove your username and scores.
Change your username — contact us and we can update your records.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Umbrale after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
